The Edge 10, explained
Why these ten indicators, why in this order, and why not the other eighty-seven. A short note on the reasoning behind the Founder’s Bundle.
We spent a long time arguing about which ten indicators belong in the first bundle. Not because we had ten. Because we had a hundred and seven, and the whole point of the bundle is that it is short.
Most indicator shops throw every SKU they own into one pack and call it value. We went the other way on purpose. The Founder’s Bundle is the answer to a specific question: if a trader is using a chart for the first time today, which ten tools would we want them to have, and which eighty-seven would we quietly hide.
The ten we kept are the ones that answer questions in the order a trader actually asks them during a session.
The order of questions
First question, every morning: should I even trade this session? That is the Context layer. VolatilityRegime tells you whether the tape is in a trending state, a chop state, or somewhere between. VWAP marks the reference price that institutions use, so you know whether you are buying a discount or a premium to their average cost. VolumeProfile tells you where the market considers itself fairly priced. Three indicators, one answer: what kind of day is this going to be, and where does fair value sit.
Second question, once you decide to trade: what is the trend, and where does it break? That is the Trend layer. Supertrend for the regime filter, OpeningRange for the structural levels everyone defends in the first hour. Two indicators, one answer: which direction has the benefit of the doubt, and where are the first meaningful breaks that prove or disprove it.
Third question, once you are in: who is actually trading right now? That is the Orderflow layer. CumulativeDelta, Footprint, and Absorption. These are the three tools that keep you from trading against real size. None of them predict the next tick. All of them tell you who is currently present and whether the move you are watching has conviction behind it or not.
Fourth question, the one that keeps you from giving back the good trades: where will this move run into a wall? That is Structure. SmartMoneyConcepts names the levels (break of structure, change of character, order blocks, fair value gaps) and LiquidityZones maps where stops are likely pooled. Two tools, one answer: where is this trade probably going to get interesting.
Why not the others
Everything else in our catalog is useful. RSI, MACD, Stochastics, a dozen oscillator variants, Japanese chart overlays, pattern scanners. We will ship every one of them. We already have most of them coded.
But they are not the ten you need first. A trader who has the Edge 10 installed correctly on one chart can walk into any session on any instrument and have enough information to make decisions. Adding a fourteenth oscillator does not change that. Taking away any one of the ten does.
We treat the bundle the way you would treat a starter toolkit. Ten tools that handle ninety percent of cases. The remaining ones exist, and they go on sale as they ship, but they are extensions of a system that already works.
That is the reasoning. It is also why the bundle price is what it is. If we gave you a hundred indicators, we would be charging you for the eighty-seven you do not need. We are not.
